Glype plugins : A blacklist file to block advertisement
Greetings,
As we all know, proxy websites consume a lot I mean a lot of bandwidth especially those which have so many visitors can even reach 10k – 50k bandwidth in 1 – 3 days. The problem is, bandwidth is expensive! So what can we do to optimize the bandwidth usage?
One of many ways to optimize the bandwidth usage is by adjusting your proxy website setting in admin control panel:
- # Set max file limit low enough for your users to access regular sites (porn and warez websites consume unbelievable amount of bandwidth).
- # Block certain countries which is known as bad traffic countries by blocking their IP addresses
- # Block advertisements from being displayed in proxified pages
I’ll post another article discussing the first 2 topics in the list above later. Now I’ll start with the 3rd one, block advertisement in your proxified pages.
How can we do that? very easy, I’ve compiled a list of adversiting websites and all you need to do is paste that list into your blacklist column in admin control panel. See the screenshot below:

Download the blacklist file here: Blacklist File

Hi budhi,
Can I use this method if I’m using a shared hosting server?
October 2nd, 2009 at 12:44 pm
Yes surely you can, since this is script based so it has nothing to do with the server…
